Little Explorers provides care for babies and children aged between 0-5 years and has a facility for Breakfast, After-School, and Holiday Clubs for children aged 3-12 years.
We are open 51 weeks of the year, closing for one week over Christmas and New Year, and we are closed for all bank holidays.
We aim to make the nursery an extension of your home; offering a caring, interesting, and fun environment. The design of our approach is holistic. We involve parents/carers as partners in the care and development of their children, ensuring that all needs are met.
Little Explorers follows the recommended "key person" approach, making sure that each child is cared for and supported individually, and as a parent/carer you can be assured that information about your child's development and needs, is kept with those who need to know. Confidentiality is respected at all times.
The nursery provides a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring that a child's "whole person" development has the potential to be fulfilled. This "whole person" approach includes; intellectual, physical, language and communication, creative, social, and emotional development.
The setting has three secure play areas providing opportunities for outdoor play. For Children in the "Midi Room" there is access for continuous indoor and outdoor play. Our larger play area has planting beds, so children can experience growing their own vegetables and fruits.
Little Explorers prides itself on its cultural diversity. Celebrating special festivals and promoting difference ensures that staff and children respect and value different cultures and beliefs. Being based in Liverpool's Knowledge Quarter, lends itself to providing childcare to college and university students from around the world.
Equally, Little Explorers provides a safe, caring, and supportive environment to children and their families who have additional needs. Our deputy manager is our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) and will help with your child's development, drawing upon support and advice from Liverpool Children and Families Service.
At Little Explorers, breakfast, snack, and afternoon tea is provided. Lunch can be provided at an additional cost. Parents/carers who wish to provide their child with a packed lunch are asked to prepare a healthy meal. All food prepared by the nursery is vegetarian. Children who require special diets are catered for and all staff preparing food have achieved CIEH Level 2 Food Safety.
