A traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience. It is designed to give young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for.
Traineeships are an ideal opportunity for young people, aged 16 to 24, who are motivated to find employment but lack the skills and experience that employers are looking for.
The Traineeship Programme is a 6 - 26 week study programme that consists of 3 core elements:
Level 1 Award in Developing Employability Skills
Learners must be out with an employer within 2 weeks of starting the course.
Work experience must be 'real work' and will be 4 days per week.
Learners will continue to be supported with English, maths, and ICT.
Travel will be paid until employed.
Learners will be reviewed monthly and have an interview as part of the exit review.
Excellent rates of progression to apprenticeship level.
